I have at least one pair of these Red Dot in every room in my house. I work from home and always need to quickly cut something or other. And I autistically hate having to track down a pair of scissors when I need one for a two second job.So I stocked up years ago and they work great, every time. I even process food with them and put the shears in the dishwasher and they've survived repeated washes.Can't recommend enough.

While these are called “dressmakers” sheers, I just found them excellent for any and every type of scissoring. This a second purchase simply because I liked the first set so much, I wanted an extra. They are true left-handed scissors in the sense that the blades are the reverse of standard right-handed scissors and also have the thumb grip set to slant to the left for an ergonomic fit for lefties. With this in mind, they would not be of use for righties as they are not ambidextrous like some scissor grips. Perfect for lefties and are good quality, thin-bladed, lightweight scissors.

The 8.5-in. Red Dot Left-handed Dressmaker Shears are a great product and I heartily recommend them. Any person in the market for true, durable, and well-made left-handed shears/scissors ought to give serious consideration to buying this product. These shears' cutting edges keep their edges sharp no matter how much they are used. We have been using these L.H. shears for 3 years and the shears' cutting edges have hardly worn and are just as sharp as they day we unpacked them. We never needed to sharpen them in all that 3-year length of time. Mundial produce some very good products, and the Red Dot Left-handed Dressmaker Shears are certainly among their best.

LEFT HAND SCISSORS!! I have a left-handed husband who has been rendered looking pathetic on more than one occasion when i would cram a pair of right handed scissors into his hands forgetting that he could use them about as well as a turtle can use a lawnmower. finally, feeling sorry for him, i ordered these. Left hand scissors are AMAZING. They're usable by both righties and lefties, so WHY IS THIS NOT STANDARD?!i doubt righties would even notice the scissor change over to left-handed.Red Dot, you've given my husband access to a whole new world of being able to use scissors:D thanks!:D

I'm very happy with these scissors. In particular, they cut cloth very well. It is pretty much impossible for a lefty to cut cloth with right-handed scissors (I've tried many times) but with these scissors it is absolutely no problem. I just used them to cut up a bunch of old t-shirts for rags.My one complaint and the reason I give these scissors 4 starts instead of 5 is that the bottom finger ring is very small. If you have large hands like I do, you can only get a couple fingers into the ring. This feels a little awkward but doesn't really impede use of the tool.

I love these scissors, strong, sturdy, accurate, sharp. and true left-handed. I bought several of these for my classroom. My left handed students love that I have these for their use. Many had never used true left handed scissors before and marveled at them. They had no idea how wonderful true left scissors can be. I am left handed myself, and make it a point to accommodate my students. Even with all the focus being on the left hand portion of these shears, they are an extraordinary good and sturdy set of scissors, they can cut through 16 layers of paper for a project I do with absolutely no problem.

My daughter is a lefty and has never been able to cut very well --- you should see the wrapping paper during Christmas time! After watching her struggle to cut the paper this year for gift wrapping, I finally understood what she meant when she said she could never get scissors to "work correctly" for her. So I decided to get her a pair of "TRUE" left-handed scissors where the blades are reversed (not all "lefty" scissors reverse their blades). Well, when they arrived, I gave them to her and she was a bit confused about why I bought her a pair of scissors as a "gift" --- she opened them and cut a piece of paper lying nearby --- as she began to cut, a HUGE smile spread across her face -- this was the FIRST time she had ever used a pair of scissors that "worked correctly" for her.
