This mount is solid and very sturdy. It arrive packed very well and upon removing it from the box, the solid construction is noticeable. I've only had it for a couple of weeks, but I have not experienced any failures. It has held at every angle I've set it to. I only use it to hold my phone, but it definitely excels. There's plenty of room between the clamp and the metal rod with the pad to attach to a variety of surfaces. To ensure proper clamping, I'd recommend having 3 inches of surface space beginning from the edge. It doesn't at much weight, casement be adjusted to many angles and is easy to install. The one thing that people should know is that although this mount is adjustable, it does require ample force. It does require using both hands to adjust the arms to open and close them. …

I was enthusiastic about this product at first, and subsequently ordered two more. All three of them have now failed in the same way: There is a plastic hasp securing the ball joint that positions the device, and that plastic hasp has, upon tightening, broken on all three I've ordered. Even when it's not very tight.Fortunately, each product includes an extra hasp. But the extras have broken as well. Unfortunately Amazon does not give me any way to contact the seller and request replacements. I have been otherwise happy with the product, but this defect renders the product unusable.

I have flexible arm ones and they have their uses if I need exact positioning that can't be exact turns of a mechanism, but for this I didn't want it to budget, but could easily turn into another use. I have this on my desk that's next to my bed so I can have it right where I want it for viewing laying down an then swing it back over to the desk out of the way when I don't. Very sturdy and well made.

Got this monitor mount for my mobile work-station setup to mount a 15inch portable monitor. I actually came across this arm after seeing it advertised in social media for 2x the price here on Amazon. The arm is stiff and firm in a good way. Prevents jittering when you are typing and holds my monitor comfortably. The joints require a lot of force to reposition which can be both a positive and a negative, for me its a positive as it prevents from inadvertently changing the angle etc when moving the table. Also, the blank spaces in the arm pieces are great to use Velcro ties to secure cables along the track of the arm and keeping things tidy. Well worth the price I paid here on Amazon.
