My little boy parakeet had been having some diarrhea for a couple of days (unusual for him) but otherwise, he seemed to be feeling fine (eating, playing, etc.) so I searched online to see if I might try something "over the counter" before scheduling a vet visit. One of the products recommended was Nekton Probiotic and since I've already been using their vitamins for my parakeets for years, I purchased this and am so happy that I did. I did not quite make up this product to full strength as per the instructions (as was afraid he might not drink the water if it was too concentrated, plus I change his water dish several times a day) so instead I just put a generous sprinkle over his water with every water change and he was better within a day and completely back to normal (no more diarrhea) …

I use this for my African Gray who intermittently has diarrhea issues.

This product was highly recommended to me by my exotic animal doctor for my special needs African Gray parrot (33 yr) since Valley Ag stopped making Bene Bac probiotic which was pulled off the market. It is made in Germany and distributed in the US. I just mix 1 scoop of odorless powder in a certain amount of water which she has no problem drinking. It can also be mixed with food if you prefer. No more measuring to give orally. Nekton is easy, safe and healthy for your bird!! Thank God there is a good replacement to keep you feather baby healthy!!! It should be stored in a dry area, out of sunlight & not refrigerated.

I got a large amount of vitamins for my birds to take and the breeder start and the booster I still got a few more things to buy before I have to complete set vitamins are like full strength and they do a lot better when they're all mixed up together sometimes you're lacking one vitamin so you have to increase it the birds are pretty well destroyed from the red dust mites it's going to take some while to get them build back up it is overwhelming the work that I did into my birth and trying to manipulate that with the housework and responsibilities
