How It Works: The Lake Bottom Blanket reduces sunlight exposure to the lake floor, which helps limit the growth of underwater vegetation. Simply position the blanket over the area you’d like to manage. It works only on the plants it covers, while allowing fish and other aquatic life to move freely underneath. What's Included in the Box: (1) Our Patented Lake Bottom Blanket with weight channels (un-weighted) (2) Installation ropes, Rebar End Caps and Warning Buoy (3) Instructions and QR Code to view videos on your phone or computer. You Will Need To Buy Weighting Locally: Prior to installation purchase (7) 3/8” by 10-foot-long pieces of Rebar. (Rebar is a metal reinforcement material used in concrete construction). Lowes Home Improvement sells these, and they cost about $8 -10 each. If more Weight is needed due to high water use, ½” rebar can be used in the end ribs. (2 sets of ½” rebar end caps are provided) Weeds That Are Difficult To Kill: Eel Grass, Lily pads and Hydrilla are a few lake weeds that are very difficult to kill; covering the entire infestation for longer periods of time can work but is not guaranteed.
